Smart People Hang with Smart People!

“Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.”

(Proverbs 13:20)

I am a strong believer in godly mentorship. As much as we pray and seek God, we still need human beings to provide us with instructions. We do not know it all and need to submit to those that God has placed over us to help to groom us into greatness. If we want to be wise, then we have to associate ourselves with wise people. If we associate with foolish people then we can expect that our output will be foolish.

We need to walk with people who have already successfully traveled along the path that we are on. Some of us are completely frustrated because we are investing time sharing our dreams and visions with people that do not have the experience or wisdom to help us. For example, how dumb it is to expect someone to groom us to become the next President of the United States and they are not registered voter themselves? If you aspiration is to become the next U.S. program then you need to associate with people who are saturated with political knowledge and passion. Wise and experienced mentors can help us to navigate the courses that will lead us to our desired destinations.

I have been blessed with some great mentors in my life in the following areas:

Pastor Anthony W. Gilyard- ministry & preaching Pastor Rhonda Bolden –motivational speaking, branding, social networking, prayer & writing

Darenda Mays-prayer

Sophia Garcia-prayer

These are just a few of the individuals that God has connected me with over the years to help me to become a better me. I appreciate their time, and patience to help me in my growth.

Do you have a mentor or are you trying to figure everything out on your own? If you do not have one, I encourage you to pray and ask God for a godly connection. He knows the exact individual that has been assigned to help us to grow.

It’s time to stop making excuses and to “Just do it,” but perhaps you need a mentor to point you in the right direction.
